Item development is more than simply writing questions. Items must serve the tests purpose, be psychometrically sound and legally defensible.
Overview
Prometric adheres to the following process to ensure each question accomplishes the task of validating the skills and knowledge of the examinees:
- Assemble subject matter experts in a workshop environment; authoring questions under the watchful eye of a psychometrician
- Items undergo a rigorous technical review
- Items are reviewed by language experts to ensure correctness and sound language structure
All questions will accurately measure examinee knowledge, skills and abilities.
